Ruben Padilla PhD.
President & CEO
PhD from the University of Arizona. Over 30 years experience in the mineral exploration industry, Dr. Padilla has completed important research at the La Escondida deposit. With AngloGold Ashanti Ltd., he acted as exploration country manager in Consulting Geologist Peru and in Colombia and as chief geologist for the Americas exploration group. He was part of the team that discovered the Colosa and Gramalote deposits in Colombia. He is the founder and chief geologist for Talisker Exploration Services Inc. Dr. Padilla is a director of UniGold Inc. and Minera Alamos Inc.
Over 35 years experience in mining exploration, development, and financing. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Continental Exploration Corp.; was a key individual behind Aurelian Resources (acquired by Kinross Gold Mines for $1.2 billion in 2008), which discovered the Fruta Del Norte gold deposit in Ecuador; a co-founder of Canadian Royalties Inc., which discovered and developed the Raglan south nickel belt; acquired most of the Matachewan gold camp by an RTO of Young-Davidson Mines Ltd. which was subsequently acquired by Northgate Minerals in 2005; and serves on the board of Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. Previously, Tom was a Director and a member of the Special Committee at Dalradian Resources, which was privatized by Orion Mine Finance for over $550 million.
Mr. Rubenstein has served on numerous junior and major mining company boards during the last 38 years and has been actively engaged in the strategic, commercial, governance and government relations aspects affecting the acquisition, financing, exploration, permitting and development of several world class mining projects. He has been directly involved with asset acquisitions, joint venture agreements, and other deals involving governments, regulators, banks, and local populations and dealt with contract negotiation and management, litigation and arbitration, and regulatory compliance management. He has also played key roles on special committees and been instrumental in takeover negotiations during M&A transactions that have totaled several billions of dollars in value.
An accomplished mine finance executive with extensive experience in the investment and banking sectors. He is currently the President of JDS Resources Inc., the JDS Group of Companies’ venture capital and private equity arm responsible for investment management, acquisitions, and project financing. Brent was President and Co-founder of JDS Silver Inc., the company that purchased, constructed and operated the Silvertip Mine in Northern BC. Brent successfully negotiated the sale of the Silvertip Mine to Coeur Mining for US$250MM.
Terence Harbort PhD.
Director, VP Corporate Development
PhD in Structural Geology and Tectonics. Recognised senior member of the discovery team of AngloGold's Ashanti's La Colosa and Gramalote deposits. Specialist in mapping and interpretation of ore geometries and ore controls covering various types of geological environments with direct applications to mineral economics from target generation, target definition and evaluation, and project management. Co-founder and VP Exploration of Talisker Exploration Services. Currently the Chief Geoscientist for Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd and Osisko Nominee to the board of IDM Mining.
Holds a MBA and is a Member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants, the Certified Practicing Accountants of Australia and he is a Certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He has served as CFO and Vice President of Finance of several medium sized public companies across Canada.
VP Strategic Development
Jason has nearly ten years of experience in all facets of mineral exploration, mine development, investor relations and finance. Upon completing his undergraduate degree in Geology at Western University and a Masters in Earth and Energy Resources at Queens University, Jason worked as a Project Geologist at Trelawney Mining and Exploration, which was subsequently sold in 2012 to IAMGOLD for C$608M. Jason then moved on to work as an Exploration Geologist at a number of IAMGOLD properties and in early 2015 was recruited to join the Barkerville Gold Mines team as Sr. Geologist where he was appointed Chief Mine Geologist in 2016. In late 2017, Jason took on the role of VP Corporate Development which ultimately led to the sale of Barkerville Gold Mines to Osisko Gold Royalties in 2019 for C$338 million. Jason is currently of Director Corporate Development at Talisker Exploration, Vice President of Strategic Development at Sable Resources and is also on the Board of GK Resources.
Mr. Cartwright has over 10 years of finance and accounting experience, focused on public and private financial reporting in both Canada and the US. He has been the Company's Controller since 2017 and was the former Corporate Controller for JDS Silver Inc., a private mining company that advanced from PEA to producer in three years and was acquired by Coeur Mining, Inc. in 2017. Prior to this, he spent a number of years with Deloitte LLP. Mr. Cartwright holds a Bachelor of Business Management from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
Luis Arteaga P.Geo
Mr. Arteaga is a professional geologist with more than 14 years of experience in precious metals exploration in a wide range of mineral deposits. Luis has worked for various major and junior companies including 5 years with AngloGold Ashanti in Colombia and Brazil. Luis joined Talisker Exploration Services in 2011 as Senior Geologist where he worked in Mexico, Peru, Northern Ireland, Argentina, and Canada on behalf of the Osisko group of companies. Luis holds a BSc in geology from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and an MSc degree from Laurentian University in Ontario. Luis is a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) and member in good standing of the APGO in Ontario.
